DETAILS AND REGISTRATION

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus”

Acts 2:38

BAPTISM DETAILS

Why should I be baptized?

Having been born again, water baptism is a dramatic act that identifies you with other believers and with Jesus Christ who said, “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

Water baptism is your personal confession and is an outward demonstration of the inward new life you have experienced since accepting Christ into your life. By being baptized, you are following Christ’s example and obeying His command.

What will happen?
  • You will be invited to a brief orientation prior to your baptism, after which you will be dismissed to a changing room to prepare yourself for baptism.

  • The Elder team will assist and usher you to the baptism pool, where the Pastor will introduce you and ask you to confirm that you have accepted Jesus Christ.

  • The Pastor will ask you to cross your arms over your chest and put one hand over your nose and mouth. From a standing position, the Pastor will place his hand on yours and then, with one motion, he will lay you back into the water (signifying death to your old life) and lift you right back out (signifying your new birth and new life in Christ).

What should I wear?

Please wear dark clothing that remains opaque when wet. We will give you a “Made New” tee shirt to be baptized in and towels for when you exit the pool.

Remember to bring a change of clothes and whatever personal grooming items you may need following your baptism.

Who should I invite

Invite everybody you know! Your Water Baptism is a moment to celebrate with family, friends, and co-workers.
By sharing your experience with others, you will:

  • Strengthen your personal faith decision;

  • Be a witness for Christ; and

  • Help someone close to you on their own faith journey.
